Working class artist group

33 working class artists and producers living in the UK, Founded in 2018, Volunteer led

Working Class Artist Group are a autonomous group supported by Scottee + Friends.

We are a gang of working class artists from across the UK and we are demanding a seat at the table.

Our aim is to push forward the next generation of working class makers, to create a more inclusive sector and to out poverty tourism. We offer informal support for working class markers across the UK and create space for classed beef.

We are here to demonstrate intersectional and inclusive narratives of working classness - experiences that include failure, success and the mess in between.

We will attempt to get our voices heard across the sector, calling out and challenging those within the arts sector who trade off poverty tourism, ignore working class communities and continue to fail working class artists, facilitators and audiences.

We will hold those funded by the public purse to do better, go further and reach beyond what they already know.

We have a backstage whatsapp where we support each other and organise and we have a twitter account where we can talk to all of you.
